Flat Alex in England

 

Beacon Hill - Charnwood Forest Midlands. - Flat Alex is at the top of beacon hill where people used to send messages to each other by lighting a fire in  the beacon.

Carillon - Loughborough. Flat Alex is at the Carillon. 

This is the bell tower in Loughborough, famous for an organ powered bell chimes. 

The organ keys are battered hard by the players' fists to power the bells into a tune.

 A new melody is played at midday every day.

Thinker Statue- Loughborough library- Loughborough is a University town famous for its sport. 

Flat Alex is reminded to use his brains at all times. (!)

The Sock Man. Flat Alex is reminded that Leicestershire was once famous for its textile industry and the Sock Man reminds Flat Alex of a dying trade.

Hello Friends in Year 7!

 

I am visiting my grandparents in Wimbledon, which is a suburb of London, in England. Half of an enormous oak tree next to their house has just crashed to the ground because of a strong wind. I have attached a photograph which shows this. As you can see, it just missed the parked cars and the lamp post. The person in the red dress is my grandmother, Nana, and I am on the left.

 

From here I am going to Toronto in Canada, and in about a week’s time I hope to send you a message from there.

Flat Mia in London, England!

Hello

Just wanted to let you know that I arrived safely in England.  I visited the Barbican Centre in the City of London (first two images).  I took the train to get there and passed the Olympics Site (last image).  In the first image can you spot the main stadium and the Arcelormittal Orbital?

Soon I will be on my way to Barcelona where I hope to send you some more pictures.

Flat Rosa in Stevenage (Hertforshire) England

Flattie (from Nova Scotia, Canada) travels to England

Here I went to visit Bridge Street in Warwick. It is an old Tudor Street.

This is The Lord Leycester Hostpital. It is one of the oldest buildings in Warwick.

The hospital stands right next to Warwick's East gate.

 

Next I went to the River Avon in Warwick. I stood a bit too close to the camera!

My new friend then took me to Warwick Castle; it was so beautiful.

 

The last place we visited in Warwick was St Mary's Church.

It was quite windy that day so my new friend had to catch me before I blew away!

 

Before leaving England, we had a quick look at the University of Manchester.

Maybe I will return one day to study!
